Drinking celery juice has a long list of health benefits which explains why it is blowing up as the new health and wellness trend. Doctors are supporting this trend and mentioning that there are other benefits other than its hand in weight loss. But there is also one thing that needs to be addressed and avoided.

Celery is great to de-bloat because it reduces water weight and water retention. It also balances out the production of digestive juices and enzymes to help us feel less bloated.

It is also jampacked with fiber that helps you feel full and curb hunger and cravings. It is even more beneficial when it is juiced or blended.

Celery contains a chemical called phthalide that helps lower total cholesterol and elevated blood pressure. There are two ways to drink celery: juicing or blending. It depends what you wish the celery to do and your own personal preferences to how you ingest it. Juicing would have you take the fiber out which would not be beneficial if the purpose is weight loss, that is where blending comes in.

The results will be very quick in terms of seeing improved digestion. For weight loss you will start seeing a different in about 30 days. In terms of cholesterol and blood pressure, that could take up to six months.

There is one thing to be careful about celery juice–it stains teeth. To avoid the staining effect, dentists recommend using a straw when drinking the green juice.

The proper and easy way to make it would be to grab about two bunches of celery, cut off the base and stalks, wash them and just throw it in the blender or a juicer and drink it immediately. Try to drink about 16oz of it before breakfast. It shows the best results if it is drunk on an empty stomach. If the taste is too much and you still need to get used to it, start by drinking 8oz and then start introducing more.
